Considered too expensive 20 years ago, polyester fiberglass poles are now attractively priced relative to other materials. Composite poles are imposed in Scandinavian countries, frequently used in the United States and in the United Kingdom, increasingly present in Europe, and will undoubtedly become a key component of street lighting in the future.
Its aesthetics, its low weight, its unequalled life expectancy and its total invulnerability to ocean air or other aggressions (no maintenance) offer benefits which poles made of wood, steel, aluminum or concrete cannot claim.
Deschamps SA offers two lines of composite candelabra poles, developed by our Engineering department in Saint Raphaël (83): STILI (standard) or FENYX (autonomous lighting).
Other custom-made designs have been developed, all benefiting from the same advantages found with in our standard products, meeting the EN40-7 standard (specific to composite poles), and resisting winds superior to winds in zone 5 of the wind map.
